End of the Sirens
The Sirens didn’t succeed in anything. Orpheus with
his song kept his comrades. Only Boutes, the fool,
threw himself in the water and swimming with big
strides he reached the shore. Yet even him didn’t fare
bad. The Goddess saved him from the waves and slept
with him. Thus Erykas was born. As for the Sirens due to
their spite they threw themselves in the sea and became
rocks.
Big yellow citrus were floating all around them, citrus
that had fallen from the ship as yellow as the faces
of sunken fears.
