PERSEPHONE (excerpt)
I don’t want him to send it away.
The dog is my company too, it constantly lurks,
forcing me to constantly lurk trying to discover
myself.
Here, a variety of voices and reflections, coming
from different directions, call you, share you,
like when we entered the Stadium, remember,
during the hot afternoon, the warm marble seats
burnt our legs; the stands steamed; we didn’t know
which of those naked bodies to isolate, a constant
stretching, our eyes expanded, surrounded our faces
trying to see in a circular fashion the bodies all
around. The spears were balanced; one leg was
raised up in the air; the discus sparkled; thousands
of soles shone as if flying; a sweaty breast touched
the finishing thread; you had no time.
