Polygeny
Down to Hades’ palace I descend
salinity on my lips
comfort of the wave
Persephone’s wish
for calm weather
to the upper stratum
at springtime I ascend
daffodils paired with hyacinths
things sacred and ephemeral
the body’s exhausted heat
I evoke with my dicey
measure, rotten comestibles
wander and knowledge pursuing
I, my kin’s embodiment
chthonian body ethereal
soul of my ancestors
the eagle’s talon
the beaver’s den I am and
against all odds like a salmon
I seek rebirth
