Susan remembered something that had happened at the company’s
Christmas party last year. She hadn’t thought about it again
until now. She had been standing by the bar with Eteo and their boss,
Bradley, the CEO of Pacific Trends, and his wife, sipping their drinks
and chatting about nothing in particular when Frances had walked
up and instead of greeting them, raised one leg and placed it on top
of the bar counter. The other two women, perplexed, had turned to
their escorts as if asking for an explanation, but Bradley had only
said, “Well, Frances made her presence felt,” and Eteo had smiled but
said nothing.
Bradley added, “She’s trying to impress the prize, my dear Susan,
and I’m sure you know who the prize is.” Susan only nodded her
agreement and looked at Eteo, who was enjoying every second of the
commotion without saying a single word. It was only then that
Frances took her leg off the bar, put her arms around Eteo, and gave
him a wet kiss that lasted for what seemed like a whole minute. Susan
would never forget that.
“She’s always been like that, Susan. You know her,” Eteo said.
“Yes, I know her, hon,” Susan said, looking intensely back at him.
Eteo placed his hand tenderly over hers, surprised that she had called
him hon, but realizing she knew he was a man who loved women
and the attention they paid him, and that she must have heard stories
about him from other girls in the office, including some much
younger than herself who wouldn’t mind a ride on top of Eteo. She
must know too that he usually didn’t say no and that some said this
had been the reason for his divorce, that he had plenty of experiences
while he was married to his first wife, the mother of his sons.
“Would you go out with her, hon?” Susan wondered out loud,
her voice underscoring her discomfort at the idea of Eteo with some
other woman.
Eteo looked into Susan’s anxious eyes and replied, “She is not my
type, baby, not really. I wouldn’t.”
Yet silently he asked himself, “Would I really refuse to go out with
tall blonde Frances with her ethereal body and audacious attitude?”
Perhaps he would like to explore her curvaceous body at some
time, though not without protection.
