“I see,” Anton said. His face was tightened by the concern
and Mary’s face wasn’t any more relaxed than Anton’s. “We can
talk to him or should we leave him alone?”
“No, don’t leave yet, a friendly word always has positive
results. Stay for a little while, talk to him and then go, say in
fifteen minutes or so.”
They agreed and leaving the doctor they went back into
Dylan’s room.
“I understand they’ll do some more tests tomorrow.”
Anton said but Dylan was more straight forward than that.
“It was a heart attack, alright; early tomorrow, when the
heart specialist comes, they’ll do an angiogram to find out how
bad it was.”
“Yes Mr. Kelly,” Mary said, “Everything will be alright,
with God’s help.”
“Angiogram isn’t much of a deal Dylan,” Anton added.
“I know,” the Irish man said “but they had me sign a form
allowing the doctor to act according to what he’ll find, meaning
that he might perform an angioplasty if needed,” Dylan informed
them.
“Oh, I see,” Mary said, “I’ll pray that it will all be alright
Mr. Kelly.”
Dylan showed signs of uneasiness; he stirred in his
bed trying not to disturb the tubes connected to his body. He
addressed Anton when he said, “I want you to go to my place and
get something, ok?”
“Sure Dylan; is it something to bring here?”
“You find it in my night table. A book, black cover, fastened
with an elastic band.”
