to sit and a doctor came within minutes and took him inside.
Anton and Mary were absorbed in observing the other
people when the doctor who yesterday attended to Dylan came
and signaled to them to come close. He informed them that
Dylan’s procedure took place and although they had to deal with
an unexpected complication the whole thing was a success and
Mr. Kelly was resting in the recovery ward. They had discovered
narrowing in three of his coronary vessels which they had inflated
and had placed in them three stents to keep the blood circulation
the best they could. It was new technology as he said pioneered
by a group of American heart specialists and performed here in
Canada too. It was considered a procedure rather than operation
and the patient, at most cases is released a day later. Mr. Kelly had
to recover in the proper place then they would move him to his
room where he would stay overnight for observation; next day,
if everything would develop as expected he could be released.
Anton’s face was blushed as well as Mary’s but the confident
way of the doctor’s description made them relax and hope
for the best. They walked outside to the Hospital grounds. They
sat on a bench like yesterday. He looked at Mary whose face
shone by the beautiful gleam of the sunny August day. Anton
marveled at the way his heart felt towards Mary and didn’t make
any effort to hide it; on her part, she clearly felt his emotions
and she reciprocated with equal jest. What their future might
bring was something that passed through her mind when her
eyes looked at Anton’s and spoke what she wanted to tell him.
He took her hand. It was all said by both.
One hour later they went to Dylan’s room and found him
resting in his bed. He smiled when he realized they were standing
next to his bed; he tried to say something to them …
