Statelessness
As the elements roared in anger
seeking to turn the earth around
he was severing the last rope
that connected him to the ground
and free as a bird he flew up high
lighter than light or a feather
he flew high up when the word
motherland appeared in front of him
word dressed in Teflon and
commercials, temporary abode
for the northern tourists who were
making their reservations, he was tied
to that last word, then in a moment
of anger, he dared sever the rope
and let the transcendence become
his permanent residence, he, the one
of his linage who dared write next
to his name the most horrible word
of the dictionary, the most beautiful
word, stateless, and this was his
most desirable and true freedom
