Anton didn’t know what to tell him. He would ask the
people at the School, perhaps they might know. Molly walked
close to them and touching Anton’s hand she asked.
“The usual?”
Anton nodded his head. Molly brought a cup of coffee and
piece of cheesecake to him. Anton added some sugar and cream
to his coffee and stirred it. Molly watched him. Suddenly her eyes
dived deep in Anton’s as if she was searching for something lost,
something to reassure her that he still cared for her, for the way
they have been for a while. Yet somehow, women always sense
these things, she didn’t find anything positive in Anton’s eyes
other than his concern for the school and for other things. Molly
sensed it right: Anton’s concern was also with another person; She
wondered for a second, then she walked away trying to focus on
what she hoped still existed between them. Perhaps he’d decide
to come and visit her tonight; perhaps she could please him again.
Molly smiled at that thought and that was enough for now.
Anton spent one hour at Molly’s diner. He had the usual
conversation with Simon, the drunkard, as Dylan called him, he
enjoyed Molly’s coffee and cheesecake; he enjoyed Molly’s willingness
to hint to him that he was invited to her place, however
his glance didn’t respond positively to Molly’s signs and he left
her disappointed when he got to his truck and drove home. The
evening sky was calm and serene, the flickering stars concurred
to Anton’s decision to stay away from Molly’s bed tonight, the
little dipper dived deep in the expanse of the western horizon
while the big deeper observed all astral and human movements,
making sure they all abided with the wishes of the Grand Master.
Anton recalled Mary’s body joined with his in that first
erotic consummation they experienced earlier that day and with
that overwhelming mood he fell asleep.
