Mitch nodded his agreement and went to make the arrangements
Eteo required.
For the rest of the day Eteo only had to handle a few phone calls.
One was from Herbert, urging him to “stay cool” with the Platinum
Properties stock and not sell too much too soon. Herbert was sure
the shares still had a long way to go before they peaked. According
to “information received” Herbert assured him, “the big guys haven’t
come in yet.” Eteo understood him very well and agreed to stay in
for now. His next call was from Mario. He was also bullish about Platinum
Properties and added that he had now received the subscription
forms for him and Robert to fill out and collect the subscribers’
cheques. Richard then called him to inform him all the papers for
his oil deal had been signed, which meant that within two weeks they
would start drilling their deep well in Texas. Eteo congratulated him
and wished him success with the drilling, advising Richard to keep
him in the loop no matter what. Richard promised he would.
Finally Helena rang on Eteo’s private line.
“The boss wants you in his office pronto,” she said without any
of the usual pleasantries.
Eteo put on his jacket, fixed his tie, and walked to Bradley’s office.
The boss was on the phone and gesture to Eteo to have a seat. Eteo’s
eyes travelled around the office until his boss put the phone down
and addressed him.
“John tells me you’re onto a good one.”
“As good as any, Brad.”
“Pacific Trends has made some good dollars trading it, and John
told me it looks steady and up-ticks almost every day.”
“Yes, that’s right,” Eteo confirmed. “I’ve put some good money in
it, and I’m hoping for the best. As always,” he added with a sly smile.
“Specifics?”
“Well, the latest I’ve heard is that the big boys haven’t started coming
in yet, as the phrase goes almost every time.”
“Okay, then, we’ll go with that, my strange Cretan.” Bradley
laughed and got up to shake Eteo’s hand, “Listen, you want to go to the
football game on Saturday? Meet us at the stadium. What do you say?”
