That means that they’ll need to stay on the yatch two nights. He thinks it would
be best to leave the younger people on their own on the boat, while he and Mara
rest at a hotel. This way, his guests will have a full day to enjoy the water and take
pictures of marine life in the gulf.
The sun is up and the day looks like it’ll to be pleasant. He had his morning
herbal tea with Mara and now just wants to walk about for awhile to stretch his legs.
His mind travels to Hakim and he wonders how his business meeting will go
today; he’s certain everything is okay and Hakim’ll get in touch with him soon.
Rassan finds Ibrahim walking slowly looking at the flowerbeds by the shrubs
and the trees.
“Good morning, boss.”
“Good morning, Rassan. I’d like you to go to the market and purchase
necessities for three days; we are going to the yacht. Our guests will come with us
and they’ll stay on the boat two nights; Mara and I will go to the hotel. This tripwill
give me the opportunity to visit the office and see our people there. Make the
proper arrangements and take Abdul along to assist you. I’d like him to come
along also; you never know what might happen on such a lengthy car trip.”
Rassan listens carefully and figures outwhat he has to do to prepare for the trip.
“Okay, boss,” he says and leaves.
Talal and Emily are up and they come down from their bedroom to find
Mara giving the day’s instructions to the maids.
“Good morning, Mara,”
“Good morning, Emily. How did you sleep?”
“Very well, thank you, Mara, and you?”
“Well, thank you, Emily. Come along, let’s have coffee and something to eat,
come, come,” she says with a smile.
They sit and have breakfast when Ibrahim comes in from his walk and greets
them. He joins them and has a second cup of herbal tea.
“Tomorrow, we shall go to the gulf,” he announces to all.
Mara looks at him with questioning eyes and he nods to her that she’s to
come along as well; she smiles, as she enjoys these trips to the yacht. They haven’t
gone on a cruise for a while since Ibrahim’s illness. She’s happy they will both
have a good chance to relax. He tells them the instructions he has given Rassan
for the three-day trip to Basra. “We’ll be leaving early tomorrow morning, a lot
earlier than this,” he points to the clock on the wall.
“How long does it take to get there, my uncle?” asks Talal.
“About six hours; we’ll take the limos. Abdul will come with Rassan. We’ll
stay overnight in a hotel and you two may choose to stay on the yacht or with us
in the hotel.”
