Ariana turned to him.
“I’m excited, my love. I haven’t been to Las Vegas in a long time,
and I really would love to go with you.”
His eyes dove deep into hers and clearly discerned the love and
appreciation there. He squeezed her hand a little and winked at her.
“I’ll make the arrangements with the travel agent tomorrow. This
coming weekend okay? Thursday to Sunday night?”
“Yes, Eteo, make the arrangements. I’ll explain to Mom while you
take care of the boys.”
Eteo was euphoric. Suddenly life had started seeming meaningful
again, normal again, now that this woman he liked so much and who
liked him back had come into his life.
“I love you, baby,” he said and hugged her.
“I love you too, Eteo,” she replied and cuddled in his arms. People

Vegas and was pleased to see how good all three seemed to feel about
the idea.
“That’s great, Dad. I’m glad you’ve decided to do this,” Logan
said.
“I wasn’t sure it was a good idea to leave you alone for three days”
he said, addressing all three, although he meant primarily Alex.
“We’ll be fine, uncle, no worries” Jonathan assured him.
“Yeah, Dad, what’s there to worry. We’ll all be fine,” Alex added.
“Okay then, I’ll put it together for this weekend. But you older
guys,” he added, pointing at Logan and Jonathan, “will be responsible
for the younger one and for the house, right?”
It was agreed. Next morning Eteo called his travel agent and
booked airline tickets and a room at the Mirage.
Thursday arrived quickly. Eteo picked up Ariana and brought
her to his house from where Logan drove them to the airport. The
flight lasted a little over two hours, and although they hit a few “potholes”
on the way and the airplane hopped up and down for a while,
making Eteo uncomfortable since he never liked to fly…
