LONG LISTED FOR THE 2023 GRIFFIN POETRY AWARDS
Night Goodwill
Besides all the suspicion or rather my craftiness, I
occasionally got caught in a trap especially when
it was a well put conspiracy; thus I entered that store,
during the afternoon and I looked for an overcoat; yet
the lazy clerk, “you have to pay for it”, he said “but
where am I in the zoo?” I was ready to slap him,
however night was falling and I chose to walk out:
time to turn the lights on, so many lampposts which
I had to feed with my fears every night.
