At the Edge of the Bridge
Suddenly the lights came on The train went by A chimney
was left alone in the night The man returned home early
he didn’t find anybody at home The immoral woman
stood by the bridge’s edge under the lights
She had her two dentures in her purse She looked at
the traffic on the road The cyclist approached
stood next to her They didn’t exchange any words She
took her dentures from her purse she hesitated a bit
then she placed them in his hand The cyclist put
them in his pocket and left again The woman
saw him calmly vanish at the end of the road
and felt so abandoned and unprotected as if being happy
Exactly at that moment the first raindrops fell
and the wet road shined up to the edge of the world
