Beauty is close to me,
I read two books by two different writers
at the same time. One of them
lived before there was a Nobel Prize,
the other could have got one,
he was nominated, but he died two years ago.
And when I’m under their spell,
I’d like to think that if there had been a
Nobel Prize for readers,
Goethe and Kaplinski
would do everything in their power
to award it to me this year.
