“Go to your big broker at Canarim or the guys in Calgary, but I
have to assume the operator is taking you for a ride. Why has this
cash call come so soon. I don’t like it,” Eteo said, getting up to signal
that the conversation was over.
Richard, still uncomfortable and nervous, got up and shook
Eteo’s hand almost reluctantly.
“Well, if you know someone who might like to take this stock,
I’d appreciate it,” he said, trying to hide his resentment.
“There is someone I could approach,” Eteo said, “but he’s expensive.”
“Bring him to me. I’ll take care of it. I’ll make sure the trade takes
place,” Richard assured him, and Eteo left, promising to be in touch
soon.
“Today, if possible,” Richard called after him.
As soon as Eteo got back to his office, he made two phone calls.
One of them gave him something positive, and an hour later,
Bernard, a short man with shaggy hair and glistening eyes, a promoter
Eteo had known for some time, was at Eteo’s office. Half an
hour later, he was at Richard’s, Eteo having explained the urgency of
the situation to him. Whether Bernard would agree to the trade
Richard was so desperate to do, Eteo didn’t know, but he knew he
would see the trade if it went through. As he focused on his screen,
he noticed to his satisfaction that Platinum was still doing very well.
It was now at two and a half dollars with plenty of volume. His people
had made a good profit so far, and he still had lots of stock, since the
private placement shares had a four month hold, required by VSE
regulations. Eteo only hoped the stock would still be active when that
day came.
Shortly afterwards, Richard phoned him to say thank you, and
Eteo wished him all the best in return.
“Keep an eye on where this goes,” Richard added. Eteo promised
to do so.
The October weather turned rainy for the next few days, a sure
sign the Pacific Northwest autumn was well upon them. Despite the
weather, Eteo and Ariana kept up their daily walk, but now with umbrellas
every time. Every other day, Eteo joined Ariana…
