DON’T CRY
Don’t cry, don’t ever say that nothing’s left for you.
The passing tempest on the mountain peak is left for you,
the rosy dawn, the warm day far off in the sea,
the olive groves among the plains, the city’s loud commotion.
The lonely and deserted seashore too is left for you,
where in the evening await the rocks and quay
and houses and the old fisherman who slowly oars.
Don’t cry. All our lives remain to us
and every evening life surrounds you
in the soothing breeze and the night’s sighs
and the serene and peaceful beauty of our lives,
that too will stay eternally with you.
