I
Like a crystal in the arms of the sun
gleaming and splendorous
freshly cut from a dewdrop
the unconditioned poet enters
to recommend the archetypal time
before he learned the word
desire before he tasted craving
a monad off the first Monad
dewdrop off the original freshness
freer than the passing clouds
sweeter than the sweetest honey
freshly cut from a divine womb
the poet enters with an invocation.
May the troglodyte’s jib fill with a smooth mistral
may his keel slice the wave froth in two
symmetrical pieces, may the youngest firefly
light his dream and the lonely cricket
hymn his Eros to the Kore’s body.
The young poet now enters before
conditioning his spirit with a limit
before he attaches his heart to a heart.
