Wonder
He often stopped
at the edge of the sidewalk
and talked to the leafless tree
you would wonder how
importance this was to him, yet,
you never dare ask him since
you didn’t know the tree’s
answer while he obviously felt
an imperceptible shiver on
his spine as if the north wind
lashed his face as if the wind
affected the rhythm of his heart
and you stood in front of your
fireplace sipping your seven
star cognac while he stopped,
this hespera like all others,
and talked to leafless tree
as if asking for directions
