Posture
I won’t be able to look at you in the eyes
nor to openly tell you why I changed
my attitude towards you. I need to maintain
a different posture now, a stasis that I don’t like
although I adopt, though I don’t know whether
I do so because of my strength or weakness.
You don’t understand me, of course, you
don’t want to understand me; perhaps it’s
better that way, since when I ask
for your understanding
I actually ask for your justification.
Thus, you won’t ever find out of these words
which I write even if I had different dreams
for you and I, even if I thought of amid our
broken voices I could rearrange
the houses into a different line.
At least now you know that all these
aren’t a reason for music in front of the face
of a night we never suspected.
