Contained Contention
I still have, he says, last year’s nice yellow shirt
for this. I waited for this summer so I could wear it.
I always talk loudly on the phone. My impression is
that they don’t listen to me. Later, certainly, I felt
that whether I talk loudly or softly, no one listens.
I enjoy saying: it is the season of the deaf. My toes are
surely beautiful like the statues. It suits me to walk
or stand on marble, only that I feel the serene coolness
on my soles and sometimes the pin that fell from
the architect’s table, and I lean down to pick it up.
This is exactly my humiliating difference from the statues.
