HAKIM LOOKS AT his watch while he waits for Peter to come into his office
to discuss the affairs of the company. A week has gone by and he has been busy
with Jennifer getting their things ready for the move to the new place. He’s also
anxiously waiting for Talal’s return with Emily from Iraq this coming Friday. He
wants to hear firsthand about their trip and why the old man wanted Talal to go
there to begin with, and what it has to do with Bevan.
Peter enters the office and sits; he has a mug of coffee and gives a few details
to Hakim regarding the past week.
“I’m pleased with the way our stock has performed in the last few days; it
seems these guys have it together. We’ll see how well they can do in the next little
while,” Hakim tells Peter.
Peter agrees and points out they have been at it for just a week but they’ve
been awarded some good options, and with hope, they’ll give them full value for
the dollar spent; it seems to Peter these people will do well and the shareholders
are going to do well also.
“It appears they know their game, and I’ll keep a close eye on everything else
that goes on, as long as they have stock to play with. If the price of the stock goes,
to the level we expect it to, I’m going to find money from New York, at a decent
price,” Hakim states.
Peter is very happy to hear that fresh money may be coming in soon and
understands a bit of Hakim’s plan.
“If that happens, it will give us more room to develop new things, and
probably attract other interested people.”
“That’s the most important thing for us, since it’s the best way out if we want
to walk away, at any time.”
Peter, whose mind hasn’t gone to walking away as yet, says, “I don’t believe
you’d want to walk away from this so soon, would you?”
“No, of course not, Peter. However, I have an open mind and know
everything is for sale at the right price. We can always put together or find a ready
company anytime. Don’t worry about that. And Peter if we go that direction I
would still love to have you running it for me. ”
“Yes, of course, yet—”
