WHEN I SAW YOU COMING
When I saw you coming with the other swallows
only then I understood why they all chattered with such joy,
the birds among the leaves, the fairies in the branches,
the butterflies that in the light were born again.
You slowly walked the pathway, and a certain glow
shone on your face, such flowery beauty on the moistened soil
undoubtedly the spring had met you first
and under the almond trees had kissed your lips.
