Manifold
They become words
to drag your mind
into interpolations
once real and golden
In numbers we stand
next to each other consoling
our togetherness with awe
accepting our benevolence
with tears dripping in lake—
leave nothing to be guessed
but your wonder, oh, softest grass
as you sway back and forth
questioning why some have to be
small while others grow tall
to touch the sky, yet,
next to each other
we revere wholeness
both alone and in thickets
of beautiful manifold
